About Nexa
Nexa, Sweden, emerged with the vision of becoming the institutional backbone for AI in enterprises. The ambition was bold: to create the world’s first AI-Native ERP, a system capable of treating models, datasets, prompts, and vendors with the same rigor as financial assets or supply chains. Positioned as the “SAP-for-AI,” Nexa aimed to offer enterprises a neutral, sovereign, and audit-ready platform that could scale globally across finance, healthcare, defense, and government sectors.

The Challenge
Nexa approached us with the task of designing and engineering a full-scale ERP system for AI assets. The problem they wanted solved was straightforward but unprecedented: enterprises lacked a unified system to govern, account for, and control their AI operations.
They needed a platform that could:
- Provide an immutable ledger for every dataset, model, and prompt.
- Enforce compliance policies at runtime, not after the fact.
- Offer cost transparency and unit economics for AI spend.
- Manage the AI supply chain, including vendors, contracts, and licensing.
- Deliver evaluation and quality assurance to detect drift, bias, and risks.
- Deploy across multi-cloud, sovereign, and on-prem infrastructures.
- Present AI’s complexity in boardroom-ready dashboards for CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and regulators.
Nexa wanted a complete, enterprise-grade product. A system with the scale, auditability, and neutrality to redefine how AI is governed worldwide.
What We Did
We engineered Nexa as a seven-module ERP suite, combining enterprise rigor with AI-native design. At the core, we built the AI Asset Ledger, an append-only, tamper-proof registry inspired by double-entry bookkeeping. Around it, we layered a Policy Engine capable of embedding compliance frameworks into runtime operations, and a FinOps module that treated AI usage like financial accounting.
Our team designed a Supply Chain system that could map complete AI Bills of Materials (AI-BOM), track vendor risks, and manage contracts. We developed an Evaluation harness that standardized testing for bias, safety, and drift, complete with recall orchestration. For security, we implemented a Sovereign Infrastructure layer with encryption, key management, and the ability to run in multi-cloud, sovereign, or fully air-gapped deployments.
Finally, we built Executive Dashboards that translated technical detail into actionable insights for boards and regulators. The architecture combined distributed systems engineering, compliance frameworks, and scalable cloud-native infrastructure to ensure Nexa could stand alongside SAP and Oracle in enterprise credibility.
The Results
- Nexa now operates as a full ERP-class platform purpose-built for AI governance.
- Established itself as the world’s first AI-Native ERP, setting a new enterprise standard.
- Secured the ability to run in high-security industries through sovereign and air-gapped deployments.
- Gained a vendor-neutral backbone, breaking the cycle of lock-in to hyperscalers and AI providers.
- Achieved audit-readiness for global regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act.
- Positioned as a Swedish-born category leader, with the credibility to scale across Europe and beyond.
